funny family night...

So, last Sunday after dinner Stephen was really excited
to sit the kids down to watch a good family Sunday night movie...
Sound of Music. Well.... we made it about 35 minutes before
the bugs were wrestling on the floor and totally oblivious to the
magical show they were missing. I was TOTALLY impressed with my hubby.
He whispered to each child to go find a secret spot and prepare two
talents to share in a family talent show... then he told me to help with costumes and
he began creating a fun stage with curtains and everything. The kids had a BLAST!
Kendyl told jokes and did ballet, Brad taught us how to sword fight like a pirate and
how to be the fastest draw as a cowboy. Avery sang a song she wrote and shook
her booty and Ry just put on a costume and stood and stared at us like
we were all wierdos. Stephen was adorable and wore a hat.. played background
music and ENTHUSIASTICALLY introduced each star...it was
a very memorable Sunday night activity. Belly laughs and booty shakin'
all night long....with the grand finale... our famous Boyer dance...

...YEAH! Stephen will be home tonight... he has been gone since Tues night... I am a total baby. I can't go a day without him without losing my mind....

ok, honestly the kids totally take advantage of me and I want to lock myself in the bathroom and that's the real reason I am so excited to see him again... ;)

10 random facts about Stephen and I...

ok. I am totally in a Meme mood. I love them. don't ask why.... I don't know. It must be the "force me to remember stuff.." part....

who knows.... anywho.... here's ANOTHER one :)

1. On our first date (11 years ago...) we ate at Olive Garden. We looked at the menu-- then he told me what he wanted--- and when the waitress came I gave her both of our orders. Neither of us ever thought twice about it. To this day Stephen has NEVER given an order at a restaurant...he just tells me... or I just pick for him. Yep. It's crazy.
   
2. Stephen has taken every serious girlfriend home to Alabama for a vacation.... I have NEVER been. what's up with that....
   
3. We both laugh at our own jokes...and we fight over who is funnier...
   
4. I am almost a whole foot shorter than him...
   
5. He has NEVER missed a doctors appointment while I am prego...
   
6. We both love road trips and plan one at least every other month... it's our "talk time"...
   
7. We balance each other out very well. Things that stress him out (usually) roll right off my back and he isn’t phased by things that tend to make me flip out.

During our "first" phase dating each other... we broke up several times.... one of the times-- we hadn't seen each other for a week or two and I went out one morning to go to work and my gear shift was frozen. I was totally freaked out and didn't know what to do. So, I called Stephen. His truck was in the shop so he walked a mile (in the snow-seriously) to my house... fixed my gear shift... smiled at me then walked home... what a sweet heart. We got back together shortly after that.... :)
   
9. We both forgot our last two anniversaries... and the last one we remembered while we were unloading a truck full of tree branches at the dump.... romantic 'eh!
10. We have a secret code with each other... It started 10 years ago and we use it EVERY day. Mental, yes--- i know. The kids have even picked up on some of it now....

He makes a smashing breakfast. He took me to the temple. He wants a big family. He enforces FHE. He makes me feel safe. He has more integrity than anyone I know. He will watch cowboy movies with Brad all day. He gives me a break from the kids when he knows I need it. He doesn't get mad when I shop ;) He is a southern gentleman. He helps others all day... everyday. He has a smile to melt your heart. He is always suprizing me with fun stuff... like our trip to Las Vegas this month!


Our love story is crazy... short story... we dated. we broke up. we dated. we broke up. I moved. he dated. I went on a mission. we found each other again. then it only took us 6 weeks to get married. I know we are soul mates. I know that we will be dancing the funky chicken on our 70th wedding anniversary. He is my favorite person in this world. I love him to death....

Oklahoma pics

I love my hubby...

ok.... it's been a crazy CRAZY last couple of weeks. The "highlight", if you'd like to call it that... was our trip to Oklahoma. We actually had a really fun drive down (20+ hours). We stopped every 2 or three hours to eat, run around, stretch or just feed Ry. We did a lot of fun stuff... and had fun hangin with the Johnson family... but on Saturday we were going to take my uncles horses and let the kids go horse back riding and to make a long story short... Stephen was thrown from a horse. He has been riding for most of his life, so he knew what he was doing... the horse just got spooked and went crazy. He landed on the top of his back and hit his head real hard. He lost consciousness and was taken to the emergency room. Luckily he wasn't paralyzed or even killed. One of my cousins (2yrs old) was trampled by the horse as well and broke his leg in two spots... it was all very frightening and just a big nightmare. My mom flew back to OK to help me drive everyone home after several days... and now he is just layed up in bed on pain meds. He is dying to go back to work, but this morning he couldn't even butter his toast. Anyway, it all could have been totally worse. I am just SO grateful that he is ok. But, now that it's all over we really need another vacation to recover from it all!!!

6 years!!

Stephen and I have been married for a wonderful 6 years as of yesterday... and for the SECOND year in a row we both forgot our anniversary. Actually we spent it cleaning out the backyard and making a massive trip to the dump. (don't you just love those spring cleaning days... ;) Romantic 'eh?!?!
Luckily my sweet honey got me flowers just two days ago. I told him that they can count as anniversary ones....
I love my Stephen more than anything... he is really my hero... He works so hard for our family. In fact, tomorrow he has his final tests with the fire dept. So, between police, fire and EMT he is constantly working or being paged or going to meetings or something of the sort. But he is a great example to the kids of hard work and ambition.
I know I've said it before but, he looks HOT HOT HOT in his many uniforms too! ;) I love you baby. Happy Anniversary!!!
