6 years!!

Stephen and I have been married for a wonderful 6 years as of yesterday... and for the SECOND year in a row we both forgot our anniversary. Actually we spent it cleaning out the backyard and making a massive trip to the dump. (don't you just love those spring cleaning days... ;) Romantic 'eh?!?!
Luckily my sweet honey got me flowers just two days ago. I told him that they can count as anniversary ones....
I love my Stephen more than anything... he is really my hero... He works so hard for our family. In fact, tomorrow he has his final tests with the fire dept. So, between police, fire and EMT he is constantly working or being paged or going to meetings or something of the sort. But he is a great example to the kids of hard work and ambition.
I know I've said it before but, he looks HOT HOT HOT in his many uniforms too! ;) I love you baby. Happy Anniversary!!!

Scary Scooby-Doo

I was crackin up this morning.... I turned on Scooby-Doo for the older kids while I took care of Ry and Avery was having a super sensitive morning. She normally loves doobydoo. I don't know what was different today. She was snuggling with Kendyl and hiding under the foot rest and making the cutest of faces... for some reason she wasn't feeling the whole ghost thing today.
I have a horrible sickness... Stephen gets a kick out of it. But when my kids are scared it cracks me up. I know, it's soo wrong. It will probably come back to me when they are older... I don't know why it is. But I just think they are too stinkin cute when they are frightened. So of course I pull out the camera this morning... to document these faces she was pulling.. I couldn't resist.

Yet another milestone....

This is an oldie but goodie of Brad... it's one of my favorites!!

Ok... I am officially an overbooked, overstressed and overplanned momma. We put Brad on a teeball team a few days ago and had our first two games already this week. Oh My! Serious comedy! His first time up to bat he hit the ball just fine but quickly ran to third base (only because everyone was yelling "run Brad, RUN!") then he ran back to homebase and out to second and finally to first. It was a sort-of-round-about home run I guess... :) Needless to say, we were tickled that he put on such a great show. And the constant waves and shouting "Hi mom! Are you proud of me?" made it worth every second. The kid cracks me up. This past week I was also called to the Primary Presidency in our ward... and I am excited. Kendyl starts tumbling, the older two are doing swimming lessons... and so on and so on. I know moms do this stuff everyday, and it seems normal to most... but this is a new phase for me. I am not used to the "run around" life. I am used to staying home all day in my pj's. I guess those days are quickly coming to an end. But I love it. Each stage is wonderful in it's own way.

Quick trip to Colorado

Stephen & I decided that our family needed a quick "getaway" this week. So, we packed up the kiddos and headed for Grand Junction, Colorado. It was beautiful. At first we thought it would be fun to camp... then we laughed and found a hotel. We spent several hours at the park and shopping. We also drove to Grandview Colorado. It's like a little Park City. It's really charming, but very busy. We have really come to find out that we are small town people. We both thought it would be fun to stay there if for some reason everyone else left :) We really love these random "breaks" from reality. It's quite refreshing actually. And the kids love it too!!

I have to say that the highlight was the swimming pool at the hotel. I sat on a chair with Ry while Stephen kept Avery, Kendyl and Brad afloat. All three had water wings on. Stephen could hardly see... he had one on each arm and one on his back. I seriously wish I had the camera. But I was laughing to hard to think about anything else....

family milestone...

We just had a major milestone in our family... our first dance recital. Kendyl did awesome! She loved the stage and didn't flinch at the 300 people watching...She had two dances, Animal crackers in my soup (all 16 girls belted out the song to a few random shuffles and kicks...) and a Winnie the Pooh ballet number. ToO CutE!!! We were very proud parents and showered her with hugs and flowers. Time is passing so quickly, I can't even believe she is old enough to do this big girl stuff....
Thank you to all of the Grandmas for coming!!!
