Mom: *walking over to the sink*

Av: "No mom. I don't want any water today. It tastes like beef."

...poor dad.

we took the kids for a walk the other day and Avery was riding her little tricycle. Can we say S.L.O.W. it was so hard to be patient when K and B were about 3 miles ahead of us... I was pushing the huge double stroller with only Ry in it because Had decided to freak out... so Dad was cuddling with her... he was bending down trying to hold Had and push the bike at the same time....

Dad: "whoa. my back is burning. "

Mom: *laughing at Dad's pain* "Yeah, I wonder why..."

Avery: "Dad. It's because of all the problems that you have."

my little dumplings..

the other night the whole fam was sitting in the living room coloring pictures... Brad was VERY proud of his and ran up to Dad... had it hidden behind his back and said "prepare to be amazed Dad.."

We did a ton of yardwork yesterday and had to take a load of rubbish to the dump.... we loaded the crew in the truck and took off.. on our way home Av was cracking us up...

Av: "when are we going to be at the dumpling?"

M: "uh... we just left the DUMP sweetie..."

Av: "no. when are we going to the dumpling?"

M: "Av, you eat dumplings and you take trash to the dump.."

Av: "Gross. I don't want to eat those dumplings."

hmm.

Av: "Mom.If I keep biting my nails my skeleton will start to show."

Mom: "hmm. ok..true Avery. Are you going to stop biting your nails?"

Av: "No. {long pause..} ok, yeah I am going to stop. That would be gross to show people my skeleton."

this is an awesome way to start off a Monday...

sweet nectar?

i peeled about a dozen oranges for the kids this morning (does anyone else go through oranges by the bushel..?) Brad was eating his and quickly looked over at me~~ puckered up~~ and said:

"MOM! this orange is sick. It tastes like poison. Are you poisoning us?"

Stephen was bent over tying Brad's shoe and this was their conversation.....

B:"Dad... your hair stinks."

Dad: "{laughing}really? thanks Brad."

B:"you smell like... lawn fertilizer."

Dad: still laughing...

B: "it's ok Dad. I like fertilizer."

Av: "No I'm not mom. I am a nut and a monkey bum."

A:"no he's not."
Mom: "uh. He's not going to Satan George...he's going to California.."

Mom: "B, guess what? Tomorrow we are going to sign up for
Kindergarten!"
B: "I don't want to."
Mom: "Why not? Aren't you excited to go to school?"
B: "no. Then I won't see my sisters and our family will split up. Do you want that to happen?"

Last night at the dinner table:

Av: [without looking up from her plate] "Mom, you need to get some space bags"

Mom: "what? {laughing inside} what are space bags?

Av: "you know! You put your clothes in them, stick a vacume to it and then pour dirt and water on top."

Mom: " hmm. we totally need those."

{another reason cable was shut off a while ago.. my kids have commercials memorized.}

this morning Av was sitting on my lap and she was talking on her pretend cell phone. She calls her friends and Dad all day long....
I was tickling her leg so she couldn't talk and she covered the phone and said "Mom, stop it or I am going to call Jesus and tell him"

I love these funny little people...
